On arrival, drive to Mysore enroute Srirengapattnam, which has its own significance for our culture, religion and history. Visit the ancient temple for Lord Ranganathaswamy, which is the first temple in the list of “Panjaranga Kshethrams” (05 holy temples for lord Vishnu) followed by Tipu Sultan Palace / Gumbaz and Daria Daulat Bagh, a small fort built by Tipu Sultan. At present, it serves as a museum with Tipu and his family’s portraits. Overnight in Mysore.
Mysore, called the Palace city, is also famous for sandalwood. Until India got freedom, Mysore was the capital of Karnataka. Visit Mysore Palace, Ambavilas Mysore Maharaja Palace, is located in the center of the city with 3 storeyed structure. In those days, Wodeyar Maharaja lived in this palace when he was the king of Mysore. Next proceed to Chamundi temple and hills, a temple for Goddess Durga who killed the demons Chanda, Munda and also Mahisha. Then to St. Philomina’s church and Jagmohan art gallery. Devaraja market is an eminent place to shop around in the evening for fruits, flowers, silk and sandalwood paste. Later proceed to Brindavan gardens after 6 30 PM. Coorg is a beautiful hill station in Karnataka. Fondly called as “The Scotland of India”, it is located on the lush green mountains of Karnataka with a misty appearance most of the times. Coorg is the best place for all nature lovers. It has its own remarkable importance for its dense forest covered hills with full of spice and coffee plantations all over the hills. Visit Abbey falls, that cascades from the lush green mountains with misty clouds in the backdrop, is breath-taking. Then Raja’s seat and Madikeri fort. O/N in Coorg.
Today you would visit Omkareshwar Shiva temple, Talacauvery the birth place of river cauvery followed by Bhagmandala temples, Nishargadama – an island formed by river cauvery. Overnight in Coorg.
Since this is a long drive, around 7 hours, you shall relax for the rest of the day. Overnight in Ooty.
You shall do sightseeing of Ooty, called as the queen of hills stations in Tamil Nadu. It is famous for its Rose gardens with a variety of more than 2000 rose flowers. Later visit Botanical gardens, Doddabetta peak, St. Stephen’s church, Pine forest, Government museum, Tea museum and shooting spots. Overnight in Ooty.
In the morning, enjoy 02 hours of Toy train ride from Ooty to Coonoor. Unlike the normal trains, the toy train moves slowly so that you enjoy the nature’s beauty of Ooty on both the sides. In Coonoor which is 20 kms from Ooty, you would visit Sim’s park, lamb’s rock, Dolphin’s nose. Then proceed to Coimbatore airport to board your flight.
