Short vacations, quite like this one, often come with greater rejuvenating potential than many of their longer counterparts. Especially when there is an exciting road trip involved, a road trip to the mountains and that to, to the wondrously beautiful mountains of Himachal. Need we say more! This one will catch you at the foothills in Chandigarh for a bit of sightseeing and will take you for a short drive to the beautiful hill station of Shimla. Before you know it, you'll be back on the road for some exciting times heading towards Manali. Laidback market walks, visits to monasteries and a short drive to Solang valley. Did we say Rohtang pass? Well, thinking never got anyone anywhere...let's go!
DAY 1: DELHI - SHIMLA (370KMS/ 9 HOURS APPROX) Upon arrival at New Delhi airport and railway station, receive a pick up and transfer to Shimla by road. Upon arrival in Shimla, check-in to the hotel. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 2: SHIMLA After breakfast, visit Kufri (2500 meters), which is a 2 hours' drive from Shimla. Thereafter, visit the beautiful Vice Regal Vice Regal Lodge and take a walk down the Mall Road. Stay overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: SHIMLA - MANALI (257KMS/ 7 HOURS APPROX) After enjoying breakfast, proceed to Manali (1929 meters), a picture perfect hill station. Upon arrival in Manali, check-in to the hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure walking down the Manali market. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 4: MANALI After enjoying breakfast, proceed for a half-day tour of Manali town. Visit the Hadimba Devi Temple, Jagatsukh and Vishishth Kund and the Tibetan Monastery. Thereafter, visit the handicraft centre walk to the nearby picturesque village of Vashisht known for its hot sulphur springs. Stay overnight at the hotel in Manali.
DAY 5: MANALI - ROHTANG PASS - MANALI (51 KMS/2 HOURS APPROX) In the morning after breakfast, visit the Solang Valley and the Rohtang Pass (3978 meters) which renders a beautiful view of the snow peaked mountains, 51 km from Manali. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 6: MANALI - CHANDIGARH (320KMS/ 8 HOURS APPROX) After breakfast, proceed to Chandigarh by road. On arrival in Chandigarh, check-in to the hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 7: CHANDIGARH - DELHI (250KMS/ 5 HOURS APPROX) Early Morning after breakfast, drive to Delhi for Delhi airport/railway station to board a connecting flight/train for homeward journey.
